Our History

Charity Hua Hin operates since 2010, when the director of Hua Hin Hospital (HHH) initiated a Wheelchair Project and volunteers were asked to cooperate and carry out home visits with HHH, in order to fit the patients for their wheelchairs.

The HHH-Wheelchair Project still exists. In its first stage only second hand wheelchairs in different sizes were offered for free, to poor patients with disabilities. These wheelchairs were donated by the Wheelchair Project under Royal Patronage of the ‘Rajanagarindra Institute for Child Development’  (RICD) in Chiang Mai. Later the RICD-Wheelchair Project also donated shower chairs and toilet chairs.

Wheel Chairs Are Essential For Our Causes

Volunteers then started to solicit donations in Hua Hin. With these donations, diapers in all shapes and sizes were bought and also under pads, bandages, milk powder for babies, food, blankets, etc.  These items were delivered every month to the homes of the patients with disabilities. And besides these goods, if and when needed : refrigerators, television sets, cooking stoves, gas bottles, manual patient lifts etc. In fact, everything that the poor patients needed.

Diapers and other essentials

The volunteers of Charity Hua Hin express their gratitude for the generous donations that were received from the following organisations:

Lions Club Zurich-Waldegg, Switzerland

Dutch Society Hua Hin /  Cha Am

Royal Rotary Club Hua Hin

Norwegian Society in Hua Hin

Lions Club Hua Hin

Multi-Culti Community events organized by Mrs Lizzy Ginsel

Without these important donations it would have been impossible to help the less fortunate in our society on a monthly basis during these past years.

Charity Hua Hin is growing. Good examples of this growth are our website and our accounts on Facebook and YouTube. Through these social media we hope to generate more donations and be able to expand our list of beneficiaries among the poor and elderly.
