News Update – July 2019

The first half year of 2019 is over, so we wanted to share with you a brief overview of our recent activities.

In February we enjoyed our second, very successful La Grappa DanSea golf tournament, with CHHT as the recipient of the proceeds of the event.

The proceeds of the 2019 golf tournament enable us to increase the number of families that CHHT can assist. We can now serve between 45 and 50 families every month. Currently we assist 46 families and we consider 50 the maximum number of families that we can serve with our current budget and human resource.

The main items we deliver to their homes include: suction tubes, diapers in different sizes, under pads, plastic gloves, milk powder and monthly food parcels.

Our 12 volunteers are dedicated to assist these disabled families: it provides them with a meaningful activity in their daily lives which brings personal satisfaction. We are grateful to these volunteers, as they continue to bear all their own costs. As a consequence, 100% of all donations continue to be spent on the disabled families supported by CHHT.

During the first quarter of 2019 a brand new website was developed, free of charge. We invite you to have a look at www.charityhuahinthailand.com

As an important new initiative, which we could not have funded without the proceeds of the 2019 La Grappa DanSea Golf tournament, we launched a CHHT Study Fund in April of this year. We are very excited about this new initiative, which is spearheaded by two experienced Thai educators who have joined our volunteer group.

The fund is meant for children between the ages of 4 and 17, who come from families supported by CHHT and who attend a government school. The CHHT Study Fund will pay the basic costs for these children to study at a government school (school fees, costs of books, uniforms and sports clothes and, if necessary, travel costs).

The CHHT Study Fund aims to give the children from CHHT-supported families a better chance to receive a proper education and thus, we hope, a way out of poverty and dependency.

Thanks to all generous donations, Charity Hua Hin Thailand is now on firmer financial footing.

On behalf of our families we would like to THANK our sponsors, as they enable us to help others.
